Founders Kathy and Scott Stagl decided one day that they wanted to take their willingness and kindness of help people to the next level.
The name Cheering for Charlye was inspired by Charlye Cosgrove and her willingness to help give back to the community. A young woman that faced cancer and beat it. While taking the journey alongside Charlye and the family they saw a void, that was not talked about. As you navigate through the website you will have a better understanding about the Mission, giving back so a child and their family don't fight alone.
Charlye, her mom Kristal along with Kathy and Scott are the driving force of the foundation. Without all their hard work and commitment this would not have been possible. It takes a team, community and a bunch of caring people to make this what it is has become.
Goals
Our goal is to help at least 10 families this year in need of financial assistance. We have set a goal amount of up to $10,00.00 dollars, per family if needed.
We understand that some families may need more and some will not. So, we are working on developing different structured programs to best fit family's needs.
When communities come together, they can move mountain and make this world a better place. With your support we can meet and or exceed the number of families fighting childhood cancer.
Unconditional support
Sometime just a caring person can bring hope and sunshine to a young child going through one of their hardest times. A conversation, a moment or just taking their mind off the unfairness that life has dealt them. sometimes a simple quester can brighten their day.
Our Mission
At the cheering for charlye foundation, our mission is to provide hope, encouragement, and meaningful support to children and families facing childhood cancer. Through care packages, community outreach, special events, family support, and moments of joy, we strive to remind every child that they are never fighting alone. Inspired by strength, resilience, and the power of community, we are committed to standing beside families from diagnosis to the finish line creating lasting memories, building connections, and bringing light during life’s most difficult moments.
Unforeseen
There are so many things that you don't even think about once you have been told your child has cancer. All you can think about is saving your child. The worry of normal everyday life goes out the window. You don't think about how you are going to pay your bills, work or even remember to eat. That's were CCF is here to help. We saw this firsthand with Charlye and the struggles that it put on the whole family. Some people don't have the support it takes, going through this. So, we have chosen to help in a way of everyday needs. Assistance in utility bill, food, transportation or gas money to get back and forth to treatment. Daily life that continues, no matter what is happening in life.
What We Do
We support children and families facing cancer by providing emotional encouragement, financial assistance, community support, and moments of joy during some of life’s hardest battles. From care packages and family events to helping ease everyday financial burdens.
Why Work with Us
Because amazing children like Ailani deserve to be happy and full of life.
Ailani was dealt a bad hand in life but was blessed with two amazing, great grandparents that anyone could ever ask for. She was able to experience the joys of Disneyland on her Make a Wish trip just recently.
Ailani and children in the same unfortunate situation is why we do what we do. A smile, a little joy for them to forget what was dealt to them.
